If you’ve ever wanted to hear a virtuoso violinist play a brilliant concert on an exquisite instrument, you had your chance Saturday evening at the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Violinist Rachel Barton Pine, playing an instrument made in 1742 by the renowned violin maker Joseph Guarnerius del Gesu, along with her skilled collaborator on the piano, Matthew Hagle, gave a performance notable for its warmth, expressiveness, and impeccable artistry.
