Maud Powell Favorites

American violinist Maud Powell (1867-1920) pioneered the violin recital in North America and won international recognition for her artistry. This collection contains more than 40 wonderful concert pieces: Powell’s own transcriptions and works dedicated to her, including the entire contents of Rachel’s “American Virtuosa: Tribute to Maud Powell” recording. Many of these works have been out of print for more than a century or have never been printed. The collection also includes generous program notes about each composer by Powell biographer Karen Shaffer. Rachel served as Music Advisor and Editor.

The Rachel Barton Pine Collection

Continuing the tradition of the virtuoso violinist/composer of the 19th and 20th Centuries, Rachel is the only living (and only female) violinist to be featured in Carl Fischer’s prestigious Masters Collection series. This collection includes many of her most popular encores, all of her classical arrangements featured on her recordings, and cadenzas to most of the major violin concertos.
